I seem to remember having a "Chastain" album from a while back... doesn't really stick in my brain.
He played for King Diamond didn't he? I've never really been a fan of KD so I haven't paid that much attention. If you hear a tune that really rocks your ear, let me know.

I'm thinking the album I had was an instrumental album in the late 80's. It wasn't bad... not as good as Cacophony with Jason Becker and Marty Friedman or any of Greg Howes records, but listenable.

I don't remember if he played for KD, like you i really didn't like them, but i thnk he was more of a solo artist.
I used to have some stuff by him, going to look through my old stuff.

Not bad. Good playing... but when I listen to that style of music, I prefer the better compositions by someone like Tony MacAlpine

Hey, thanks for pointing out that Guitar9 site... I'm currently browsing the Robben Ford, Andy Aledort, and some Steve Lukather stuff I've not heard before.
Oooh.. I predict a wad of cash flying their way.

If you check out "You're Busted" or "3rd Street Killaz" by Harvey "The Snake" Mandel... it's very similar to a piece I was working on when Drau called me the other day (take away the rap vocals... because I can sing. )
But the funk + synth backing tracks combined with heavy fusion guitar... pretty damn close to what I'm writing right now.
